"OOOF!!"

I land with a hard thud from...somewhere. Had I fallen from the sky? Perhaps I had landed so hard that I couldn't remember...in fact, I can't even remember where I was from before this place...

This place...it's barren...and everything is...square...how could a would like this be explained? Everything seemed to be like blocks, even the wildlife! I look down to my right hand, and there! Even my hand! My arm is one long rectangle! I struggle in fear to get to my feet. Thankfully, I landed in the sand...the square, jagged patterned sand...I run to the water's edge and struggle to get a reflection. But I see it...I see myself...I am square.

I try to scream out, but my voice...it seemed missing. Aside from that one 'OOOF!!', I don't think I can speak anymore...

I look to the sky, wondering just where I fell from...even the sun and clouds were square, dammit! I try...who am I...nothing comes to mind...

The answers won't exactly be found just by sitting here. Looking back to the spot where I had fallen, I saw sections of land...some with grass and dirt, some of sand and square cacti, and some that seemed to lead into caves of rock. Perhaps all that I am is stranded. Perhaps someone is looking for me. Perhaps someone will find me. But until then, this is where I am. And I guess I'll have to make the most of it.

First, I'll have to make a new home. It might get cold here at night, and I don't exactly know what lurks in the shadows around here. I found a tall tree that seemed to have a plentiful amount of wood. If only I had some tools...I look around to try and find something to hit it with. All that I found was a lone chicken running by. The thought of myself hitting the tree with the chicken made me laugh, well if I could laugh I would have. I turned back to the tree and thought for a moment. I felt the bark with my hand, and it seemed to be almost cork-like to the touch. Would this even be strong enough to build with? I decided on it. I threw my fist at it several times. It didn't even seem to be painful...and after a while, it broke off...

But wait...

Now, I'm holding a wooden block in my hand...and the tree was...hovering. It was just staying right as it was. The tree had no take on gravity at all...In fact, the leaves haven't even moved since I began hitting it. What's going on here?!

At least I had something more useful to take this floating thing apart. I took the wooden block and stood carefully beneath the tree, hitting the rest of the wood on the way up. As it broke apart, I caught the wood that was in good chunk sizes, leaving the floating stationary leaves and twigs where they stood.

After gathering wood from about three more marvelous floating trees, I found a spot that was wide and flat enough to begin to make my new home. I beat away some of the grass-covered dirt with the square plank in my hand. Once everything seemed straight and even, I looked down to the wood blocks that I had. About 24 in total. Although, it didn't feel like it would be enough for a home...

Luckily, one thing I seem to remember is...crafting.

I took the wood blocks and make them into planks, four planks for one block, giving me 96 in total. I held a bulk of 64 square planks and set aside the other 32. Beginning at a desirable corner, I placed down one plank after another all in a row. Then, turning inwards, I continued placing them down one after another until I was surrounded by a rectangle. Roomy enough for myself to be safe, as well as to keep some belongings. And upon layering the planks on top of each other and then inwards, I had a regular wooden box. I felt like a toy inside of a chest.

A chest. That's what I need to make next. But first, I needed a better crafting table. And then, I'll have to make some torches, so I need sticks and some coal. But to get coal, I need some tools. I'll have to get to the caves soon. Then maybe a door instead of a hole in the wall to stay safe. Then maybe some windows--...
Part 1 of a 3 or 4 part series of anyone playing Minecraft. Essentially, this is the nameless character's perspective. Poor guy, I wonder what must be constantly going through his head.
